Erosion control is to prevent or control wind or water erosion in agriculture, land development, coastal areas, riverbanks and construction. Different, effective erosion control techniques are available in preventing water pollution, soil loss, wildlife habitat loss and human property loss, caused by erosion. To absorb some of the energy of the wind or water that is causing the erosion, this often requires the creation of a physical barrier. Depending on the wave heights, a special solution is necessary. The next scheme shows when to use the various possibilities.
